MEETING:

The next scheduled meeting of the Coweta County Genealogical Society is on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Old Passenger Depot located at 5 West Broad Street, Grantville, Georgia.

Our guest speaker will be local attorney, Mr. Chuck Witcher, who specializes in land title research. He will speak on using land records in genealogical research.

Welcome to the Coweta County Genealogical Society, founded 1981, Newnan, Georgia.

As a non-profit organization the Coweta County Genealogical Society is dedicated to the research, recording, and the preservation of historical and genealogical records for present day and future historians and genealogical researchers.

Our Genealogical & Historical Research Library, is home to an amazing collection of research materials. The scope of our research library includes local, state, national and international publications. Almost every state in the USA, are represented here. Most of the counties of the state of Georgia, are represented here too.

Our library has many different types of reference resources available such as military, census, birth records, death indexes, land record indexes, and marriage indexes just to name a few.

Our organization exchanges publications with sister organizations across the US. These publications are also available to our visitors.

Our Research Center/Library is located in the Old Passenger Depot, on the corner of West Broad and Main Streets in the City of Grantville, Georgia, South of Newnan, just off of I-85 South (exit #35). Just follow the signs to downtown Grantville and you will run straight into us. The library is open to the public. Use of the library is free to members and non-members as well.
